J’ai découvert Sancja Szymkowiak un peu par hasard, lorsque un ami me montra le bulletin du diocèse de Pontoise(septembre 2011). Il y avait un article sur Sancja, intitulé « La petite Thérèse polonaise ». Je ne sais pourquoi, mais son visage me parla tout de suite. J’eus envie d’en savoir davantage sur cette bienheureuse, de qui semble émaner une droiture et une fidélité à l’Amour sans partage.

Grâce au livre de Caroline Monsarrat, je vais enfin en savoir un peu plus sur elle. Mais une chose est sûre, elle est d’ores et déjà mon amie.

I want to share this photograph with you. Today I will give the sisters in Poznan a copy of this photograph as it shows the convent (in early 1942) with British prisoners of war working in the garden of the convent, attended by a German guard. The flag of the occupiers is also flying. This photograph was brought home by Private Alan Forster, a soldier imprisoned at Fort Rauch (Stalag XXID), which was a 19th century brick fort, part of the extensive Poznan fortifications. It was just 200 metres north of the convent, and now the siste of Poznan Polytechnic University. I am happy to correspond (in English or French) by email with anyone interested.
